Jeff Obosa is the creative fashion designer behind JC Made designs, this Benin, Edo State hardworking young man designs both men and women’s clothes to fit. Jeff shares how he started, challenges and where he is hoping to get to. Enjoy it

What type of business are you into?
I am a fashion designer.
How long have you been into the business?
For quite some time now, like 10 years now.
What are the challenges you have faced since you came into the business?
So many challenges; like finance and how to package and present myself to the public.
In all these challenges, what has really made you whom you are today?
Most times, life is not always rosy. There are times you will need something which will not readily come your way. Most of these things are monetary challenges, but one still has to make out ways to succeed.
What is your brand name?
JC Made
What makes JC Made different from others?
JC Made is a very unique outfit and its designs are what really make JC Made different from others out there. At JC Made, we give you good fitting, finishing and packaging.
Have you ever encountered any form of troubles with your clients over your designs?
Yes, definitely, but for me I will say those things are part of the challenges associated with our kind of business. You should know in life you can’t satisfy everyone, sometimes, you may think you have done your best, but getting to your client he or she will say, it would have been this way or that way and might disapprove that your best, but preferring it to be like this or that. This kind of challenges is some of the things that are making me to grow in this business.
Are your designs unisex?
Sure, JC Made designs are unisex.
What kind of joy do you derive from doing the type of business you do?
Very good question, I really love my job. Whenever I am working, there is this kind of inner joy in me and with such joy, different inspiration will be coming. When I am sleeping, I think about the job, even when I am less busy or doing something else, I still think about the job. Let me tell you that it is the passion I have for this business that is still keeping me going in this business, In fact, I love my job.
Where do you get your design samples from?
Wow! It is through inspiration from God. Although at times clients come with their own designs, but if I look at your shape because everybody has different shapes, I will know what and what is good for you or not and advise you on it.
Who are your big time clients?
I have done big time jobs for celebrities and corporate individuals who may not permit me to mention their names. I have also designed cloths for known TV reality shows in the country.
With 10 years experience, what advice do you have for those planning to come into this kind of business?
I will tell them that anything they are doing, they should have passion for it, because a time will come such that if the passion is not there, you won’t be able to continue. I will also advise those coming into the business to know what they are coming into. So when you have passion, know what to do and really convinced about it, the sky will surely be your limit, which is my candid advice to them.
What kind of relationship do you have with your clients?
I have very cordial relationship.
If you were not a fashion designer, what would you have been?
I would have been a footballer because I love football very much, because when we were growing up, I was playing actively in the game of football.
Where do you see JC Made five years from now?
I hope to see JC Made’s designs to be a household name among fashionista both within and outside the country.
Who is behind JC Made designs?
My name is Jeffery, but many people fondly call Jeff Obosa, a native of Benin, Edo state, I am an easy going and hardworking young man.
